EG has pledged its support to The Helmsman Project. The program, headed by Andrew Stainer, a long-standing friend of EG, aims to equip teenagers from schools located in lower socio-economic areas with the psychological skills and broadened perspective necessary to set meaningful goals, overcome setbacks and persevere in the pursuit of their dreams.
The four core values that are upheld by the board, staff and volunteers of The Helmsman Project, are the same values that the program aims to instil in the young people that it supports.
These are:
Hope: Open-mindedness to new ideas and the setting of challenging goals
Self-regulation: committed and dedicated, but able to adapt
Resilience: Embracing challenges and setbacks, while remaining focused on a bright future
Community: Dedicated to creating a supportive and collaborative environment.
The Helmsman Project offers two unique, one-year, evidence-based programs which have been designed by a team of passionate and experienced practitioners.
