EG has hosted the next generation of industry thinkers at the launch of our Future Calling event series. These leaders were invited from across multiple disciplines to gather and propose their next big property prediction at the EG offices in the heart of Sydney CBD. Far from the average finger food, attendees were invited to nibble on sustainable sources of protein and nutrition including roasted crickets and poke bowls.

Addressing them, were three successful disrupters who are already answering the call to realise tomorrow’s visions today.  Lucinda Hartley, CoFounder and CIO of Neighbourlytics shared how failsafe neighbourhood will be built on a foundation of data-predicted wellbeing, while RobertsDay Place Design Director Stephen Moore countered that the ‘Loveable City’ will triumph the ‘Liveable City,’ where genuine human connection will be the foundation for all elements of city planning. Finally, Jason Twill, Director at Urban Apostles, predicted the transformation of urbanism through collaborative consumption.

Over a cocktail and a cheeky icecream, Polymer Studios’ Strategy Directory, Andrew Coward asked the room how we can build good into communities in the face of modern crises. The lively panel debate heard predictions that winning cities will prioritise wellbeing with the help of data, inspiration from the past and flexible living arrangements.

The night concluded with many more big questions asked than answered, challenging the urgency with which we plan cities today knowing they will stand for 100 years to come. EG are proud to offer this much needed event series to millenials across the built environment industry and look forward to growing together in the years to come.
